A-Z LIST OF SERVICES
- Adult Health: Blood pressure, dressing change (client provides all supplies), ear check, ear wash, foot care for seniors ( or those that are physically unable to do their own), head lice checks, health counseling, hearing/ vision screens, hemoglobin (Iron) finger stick check, immunizations by request, Ks Statewide Farm-worker program, other injections ( B12, hormone, etc. -client supplies serum), suture removal, staple removal, TB testing, urinalysis
- Allergy Injections: Available only to adults on maintenance dose, client provides serum. We do not offer allergy injections to any one under the age of 18 years old. There is a 15 minute (minimum) wait after injections or a waiver must be signed.
- Bob Box: Provided by the Kansas Food Bank, the Bob Box is a program geared towards providing a safety net to help seniors who experience food insecurities. Available to a senior in need, upon request.
- Breastfeeding: Breastfeeding Education and Support information is available. Certified Breastfeeding Educators are available for free phone consultation or for clinic appointment for a fee. Electric breast pump loan program to qualifying Comanche County breastfeeding moms. Manual breast pumps given free to qualifying Comanche County breastfeeding moms.

- Child Health: Blood lead testing, Daycare/ Pre-K/ Kindergarten Health Screens for school enrollment (per Kansas State Board of Education requirements), ear check, head lice check, hearing/vision screenings, height and weight, Kan-Be-Healthy screenings for Medicaid qualifications.
- Ear Wash: Ear wash is by appointment only, for ages 18 and older.
- Early Detection Works- EDW program pays for breast and cervical cancer screenings for Kansas women who meet eligibility requirements. (More information under the Early Detection Works tab.
- Food Bank: The Health Department has a food bank that is available during our business hours to Coldwater/Wilmore area residents. This is a free service available when one is facing a financial burden and is in need of food assistance. Protection residents have a food bank available to them in Protection, KS.
- Foot Care for Seniors: Foot care is done by appointment in our office.
- Immunizations: Immunizations are a way to protect against the spread of contagious diseases that can involve serious health problems, illness, and even death. The Comanche County Health Department provides immunizations to infants, children, youth, and adults by appointment. (More information is available under the Immunizations tab.)
- Influenza: Flu shots for 2022-2023 season are available during our announced walk in clinics as well as by appointment. We have vaccine available for those that are 6 months of age or older, insured and the uninsured. FLU FACTS
- Injections: We will do medicine injections but the client must provide a doctors order from the prescribing doctor as well as the medication. Medication must be in the original container with instructions that was received from the pharmacy.
- Miscellaneous: We provide free weights, height measurements, and blood pressure checks by appointment.
- Lab Fair: Our lab fairs are offered every four months- Mar/July/Nov. This is an affordable way to monitor your health. The following labs are available at the Lab Fair: Complete Metabolic Profile, CBC, Lipid Panel, Hemoglobin A1C, Magnesium, TSH, Uric Acid , Vitamin D, PSA, and Hepatitis C AB. In addition to lab work, EMS crew provides free blood pressure checks, and CCHD provides complimentary beverages and snacks.
- Mobile Pantry: The Kansas Food Bank Mobile Pantry is available every other month. Dates and times are announced via flyers/Facebook/ and the event calendar on this site. This is a wonderful service that is co-sponsored by CCHD and Angel's Attic. This program is available to all households, there are no income guidelines. Limit one per household and first come, first serve.
- Safe Haven: Comanche County Health Department is a designated Safe Haven- WHEN staff are present. ABOUT THE PROGRAM.
- TEFAP: Commodities are available every other month. Dates and times are announced via flyers/Facebook/and the event calendar on this site. The Emergency Food Assistance Program ( Commodities) is a Federal program that helps supplement the diets of low-income Americans, including elderly people, by providing them with food assistance at no cost. There are income guidelines for this program. There are proxy forms available if you need someone to pick up the commodities for you. These forms are available at our office and a new form is needed at each distribution. This institution is an equal opportunity provider.
- WIC- Women, Infants & Children nutrition program for: pregnant women, breastfeeding moms, non-breastfeeding moms up to six months of age, infants and children birth to 5 years of age. There are income requirements, benefits are provided through the E-WIC system. (More information available under the WIC tab.)
